Using AI Iconset Generator for money-tracking iOS App

Hey there, fellow app developers! Designing icons is a crucial part of creating an app. In the past, we’d come up with the unique features of each icon and have designers bring our ideas to life. But now, we have amazing AI tools that can quickly turn your concepts into reality.

I’m currently planning to develop a money - tracking app for daily record - keeping. Here are the icons and their corresponding functions I need:

  • Wallet: This icon will be used to tally up assets like credit cards, digital currencies, and cash. It’s not just about a simple wallet image; it represents the aggregation of all your financial resources in one place.
  • Chart: It will display detailed income and expense breakdowns for various categories. Think of it as a visual storyteller that shows where your money is coming from and where it’s going.
  • Record: This icon is for recording the specific details of each income and expense. It’s like the digital equivalent of jotting down your financial transactions in a notebook.
  • My: This is the user’s main interface, which includes user information and relevant settings. It’s the personalized space where users can manage their app experience.
  • Category Icons for Income and Expenses: Such as icons for daily necessities, food, transportation, pets, salary, and bonuses. These icons will help users quickly identify and categorize their transactions.

Besides, I envision the overall app to have a minimalist style, with orange as the main color to add a touch of energy. So, our icons need to fit this aesthetic.

Let’s start by generating the icons for the main function bars - Wallet, My, Chart, and Record. First, open the Generator page.

Then, input your thoughts and designs for each icon element. The corresponding icon prompts are:

  • Wallet: A wallet icon with a leather texture, combining a credit card, bitcoin symbol, and paper bills. This blend represents the modern and traditional forms of money that the wallet icon will symbolize.
  • Chart: A dynamic bar chart icon with colorful data streams, floating dollar signs, and a translucent glass effect. This gives the chart a modern and engaging look, making financial data more appealing.
  • Record: A pencil and paper icon overlapped with a grid layout. The pencil and paper signify the act of writing down records, while the grid layout can imply organization.
  • My: A simple upper - body silhouette with a star icon floating above the head. The silhouette represents the user, and the star can symbolize something special or personalized about the user’s profile.

You can use the GPT model to generate these prompts. Just ask it to provide some element combinations (excluding color information) for you to choose from.

For the icon set, select the flat style, with orange as the theme color and a light background color. Here are the generated results (if you’re not satisfied with an icon, you can select it and click the “regenerate” button, or modify the prompt and click “regenerate” again):

To create the app icons for the dark mode, we’ll replace the background with a dark color. After adjusting the prompts for the light - colored background, choosing the dark background color directly gives a great result!

Next, let’s design some expense category icons:

  • Daily Necessities: A house overlapped with a small shopping bag. The house represents home, and the shopping bag indicates the items you buy for daily use at home.
  • Transportation: A horizontal car icon with a subway line extending below it. This combination shows different modes of transportation, which is useful for categorizing travel - related expenses.
  • Food: A plate with lettuce and a fork arranged vertically. It’s a simple yet clear representation of food, perfect for an expense category related to dining.
  • Pet: A large paw print with a small food bowl and a heart in the lower - right corner. The paw print is an obvious symbol of a pet, and the food bowl and heart add a touch of care and affection.

Finally, when you’ve decided on the icons, select the ones you want to download, click the “download” button, and download them to your local device in the sizes required for iOS app icons. This tool has built - in common iOS app sizes for easy download. If you don’t find a suitable size, you can customize it. Moreover, you can convert the icons to ico and svg formats for reuse in other product forms.

If you click on the dropdown of your profile picture and select “My Iconsets”, you can view all the icon sets you’ve generated. You can access all your previous works from here at any time.

And just like that, in just a few minutes, most of the icon designs for our money - tracking app icon set are done. Pretty convenient, right? Why not give this amazing AI icon - set generator a try?

One thing to note is that the current version doesn’t support rounding the corners of the chart icons. But don’t worry, you can use other tools to quickly handle this.
